Veteran actress Urvashi is currently busy promoting Pandiraj directed film ‘Parimala & Co’. The film, which also stars Jayaram, Sanjana and Sandy, will hit theaters on June 5. Between promos, a touching interview Urvashi he has taken center stage among his fans. In this interview, the actor shared an important event in his life related to the late comedian Kumari Muthu. He described an encounter with the late actor that helped him perceive humor and humans differently.
Kumari Muthu’s life story left a huge impact on the actor
Talking about her experience, as reported by News 18, Urvashi said, “Kumari Muthu anna and I acted together in a film. During the filming, the director asked me to play with his eyes positioned like his. That’s what I did, and when the film was released, people laughed.” He then recalled meeting the actor for an interview a few years later. “I asked him about his dreams. He told me: “I wanted to learn, but I couldn’t. I wanted to be a policeman, but my eyesight wouldn’t let me. I wanted to work in the railways, but that didn’t happen either.’” Urvashi said his words moved her deeply and revealed the struggles she had been silently carrying throughout her life.
An unexpected conversation changed Urvashi’s perspective
The actor said: “He also told me something else: when he went to learn to drive, a person made fun of him for having an eye problem. It really hurt him.” As the actress continued to share her woes, Urvashi couldn’t stop crying. “I started crying when I heard everything he said. He was speaking so casually, but every word touched my heart deeply,” she explained. She was truly impressed by the actor’s honesty and strong character.
The emotional meeting brought a personal promise
The moment became even more emotional when Kumari Muthu suddenly reminded her of their first film together. “He looked at me and said, ‘You acted with your eyes like mine in that movie, didn’t you?’ The moment he said that, I couldn’t handle it. I went out and was outside for almost ten minutes,” Urvashi recalled. The actor said the experience changed him forever. “That day, I made a decision. I told myself I should never make fun of him again. Since then, I have never made fun of anyone,” he said.
