Girls have once again outperformed boys in the UP Board Class 10th and 12th examinations, the results of which were declared here on Thursday. According to Board Secretary Bhagwati Singh, the overall pass percentage in the Class 10 examination stood at 90.42 percent. A total of 26,01,381 students participated including 25,91,831 institutional candidates and 9,550 private candidates. Among them, 13,43,524 were boys and 12,57,857 were girls. A total of 23,52,181 students were declared successful, including 23,45,814 institutional and 6,367 private candidates.The institutional pass percentage was 90.51%, while private candidates recorded a significantly lower pass percentage of 66.67%. Gender wise 11,72,862 boys and 11,79,319 girls cleared the exam. Boys’ pass percentage was recorded at 87.30%, while girls achieved 93.76%, trailing boys by 6.46% points.The overall pass percentage in the Class XII examination was 80.38 percent. A total of 24,86,072 students participated including 24,09,551 institutional candidates and 76,521 private candidates. Out of them 13,09,397 boys and 11,76,675 girls appeared in the examination.A total of 19,98,317 students were declared successful, including 19,38,986 institutional and 59,331 private candidates. The institutional pass percentage stood at 80.47 per cent, while private candidates recorded 77.54 per cent, showing a difference of 2.93 percentage points in favor of institutional students.Gender-wise, 9,82,610 boys and 10,15,707 girls passed the Class XII examination. Boys scored 75.04%, while girls scored 86.32%, outperforming boys by a significant margin of 11.28 percentage points.High School answer papers were checked by 96,803 examinees, while Intermediate examination was completed by 55,973 examinees. Additionally, the intermediate practical examinations were conducted in two phases between January 24 and February 9, with 18,007 examinees in attendance. Singh said that a total of 58,134 candidates appeared under the rules for partial subjects.
