Hollywood star Tom Hardy is reportedly not returning for the third season of the hit gangster drama “MobLand,” with reports that the actor has been “fired” after the end of Season 2.

According to a report on Puck, production on the show’s second season wrapped in March, after which Hardy reportedly “left” the series amid reports of backstage tension. In his newsletter, Matt Belloni said the actor was considered “problematic” during filming, that Hardy often “arrived late” and that he was driven by “script changes and dialogue rewrites” during production.

What went wrong?

Variety later confirmed the reports and stated that Hardy is not expected to return for a third season. Sources cited by the outlet said the actor was not invited back due to alleged issues with executive producer Jez Butterworth.While Paramount+ has not officially announced a third season, the report stated that it is still unclear how Hardy’s character might be written out of the story. He plays the role of fixer Harry Da Souza in the series where he also stars Pierce BrosnanHelen Mirren and Paddy Considine. The story centers on the powerful Harrigan crime family, led by Brosnan’s Conrad Harrigan and Mirren’s Maeve Harrigan, while Considine plays their son Kevin.

Tom Hardy’s behavior with Charlize Theron resurfaces

This is not the first time that Hardy has faced challenges with his colleagues on the set of the production. The actor previously made headlines for his feud with co-star Charlize Theron on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road. Director George Miller later revealed that Hardy sometimes had to “get out of his trailer” during filming. Hardy and Theron eventually addressed the situation publicly, admitting that filming in the harsh desert conditions had caused friction. Hardy later took responsibility for his behavior, saying, “What he needed was a better partner in me, maybe more experienced.”
