In a recent candid video, the actress relived that important moment: her audition Anees BazmeeHe talked about how the hit film ‘Ready’, starring Salman Khan, and a small non-dialogue role changed the course of his career.

Kubbra recounted the memory with a mix of nostalgia and humor, describing how he dressed up for the occasion and waited for the director’s approval. In her words: “This audition, for example, is an audition where I wore a short black dress and waited for Anees Bazmee to walk into the office and give her a nod. Now it was an audition where I was going to play a maid in ‘Ready’, and I’m really excited. Crazy self-belief that I always had while making this film, because this film was a new experience for me. Like, I’ve never made a movie.”

What makes the story even more remarkable is that originally Kubbra Sait did not have any lines in the film. Salman Khan himself came up with the idea that made his small role memorable. As Kubbra recalled, “I didn’t have any lines in the film, but then Salman Khan, like, said, ‘Why don’t you play the maid who speaks in a broken language, like broken English?’ And Mr. Anees really liked the idea, and that’s why I have the lines in the film.”

Although Kubbra brought enthusiasm to the role, those around him were much less convinced. She honestly remembers the skepticism she received: “Everyone told me I was crazy, crazy and impatient to play Sunaina Kapoor in ‘Ready’.
