Shah Rukh Khan begins shooting for ‘King’ at the top
According to Variety India, the makers have planned a massive 18-day shoot divided into two phases. The first phase will begin with a week-long shoot in South Africa on Sunday, April 26, followed by 10 days in Mumbai. Siddharth Anand has planned highly stylized and elaborate action set pieces for the climax. The schedule for South Africa is ready, and another team is already preparing the schedule for Mumbai. SRK, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone and Abhishek Bachchan will all be a part of these sequences.
Shah Rukh Khan gets South African permits
Reportedly, Shah Rukh contacted the President of South Africa to get speedy approvals to shoot live, with permissions granted within three days. After canceling the Dubai schedule in April due to regional tensions, ‘King’ is now on an international shoot. Siddharth plans to wrap up the summit by May 15 and principal photography by September, while handling the post-production for the Christmas 2026 release.

Shah Rukh Khan plays a killer in ‘King’
While the plot is well-kept, Shah Rukh is said to be playing a veteran assassin who teams up with Suhana Khan’s character for a revenge-driven mission. Anirudh Ravichander, who made his Bollywood debut with Jawan, is handling the music and has already presented several hit songs, two of which have already been shot in Mumbai. The film is a joint production of SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Siddharth Anand’s Marflix.
