After fighting so much to get here, it is painful to see this happening,” she added, fighting back tears.Another video circulating online showed that security measures were lifted outside Vijay’s residence. According to reports, till Wednesday, several policemen remained outside the actor’s house.
Kamal Haasan extends support to Vijay
Meanwhile, veteran actor and politician Kamal Haasan has publicly backed Vijay after Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam emerged as the single largest party in the recently concluded Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.Taking to X, ex-Twitter, Kamal wrote a lengthy note in Tamil and praised Chief Minister MK Stalin for what he called his “political maturity”.“In the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, the people have not empowered a single party to form a government. This result is unprecedented in the history of Tamil Nadu,” Kamal wrote.Referring to Stalin’s statement about respecting people’s verdict and functioning as a responsible opposition, Kamal said he respected the DMK leader’s political maturity.The actor-politician further pointed out that the Vijay-led Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam had won 108 seats and said that not inviting him to form the government would mean disobeying the mandate given by the people of Tamil Nadu.“What I am talking about is not party politics. This is a political voice of a citizen of India. The verdict of the people of Tamil Nadu should be respected,” Kamal added.Vijay’s party won 108 out of 234 seats in Tamil Nadu. With the majority mark at 118, the actor-politician needs the support of 10 MPs to form the government today. TVK’s performance has already sparked huge celebrations among fans and followers across the state.
