Telugu actor files police complaint against casting director; Banjara Hills police register a case on harassment allegations

According to police officials, the complaint was received on the night of June 12. The actor, who has been working as a lead actor in the film industry for almost 15 years, detailed various incidents in his statement to the police.

The debate about the payment of film works

ANI reported that in the actor’s complaint, a casting director named Prasad approached her through a mutual friend in October 2025 and offered her an opportunity to act in ‘Akasham Lo Oka Tara’. According to the actor, he worked on the film for 41 days, from October 21 to December 9, 2025, and was promised an amount of 90,000 to 38,000 euros for the booth prices.

The actor reports threats and bad behavior

The actor further said that on February 18, 2026, Prasad asked to meet him near producer Dil Raju’s dues settlement office at Sagar Society, Banjara Hills. According to her complaint, instead of making the payment, he allegedly threatened and misbehaved with her. He also alleged that he was offered better opportunities in the film industry in exchange for compliance. The actor stated that he managed to leave the situation safe.

The police started the investigation of the case

She also alleged that when her mother contacted the casting director about the payment due to her, he used abusive language and made threats. The complaint also states that he threatened damages if the matter continued further. Based on the complaints, a case has been registered by Banjara Hills police department under section 75, 79 and 351 (2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. SI K Vijay is investigating.
