The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) is all set to conduct the Intermediate Public Advanced Supplementary Examinations (IPASE) 2026 for first and second year students from May 13 to May 21 across the state. According to the board, a total of 3,98,358 students from both general and vocational streams will take the supplementary theory exams this year. Of these, 2,67,285 are first-year students, while 1,31,073 candidates belong to the second-year category, including private candidates.Examinations will be conducted in two sessions daily. The first year exams will be held from 9 am to 12 noon while the second year exams will be held from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
More than 1.31 lakh second year candidates will appear.
Among the second year candidates, the majority of examinees are boys. Official data shows that 83,692 male students and 47,371 female students are expected to appear in the exams.In the general stream, 74,883 boys and 44,365 girls have registered, while in the vocational stream, 8,809 boys and 3,006 girls will write the exams.
Directed the government departments to ensure smooth conduct
The board has coordinated with various government departments to avoid disruptions during the examinations.The RTC authorities have been requested to ensure proper transport arrangements for the students and staff on the examination days. The Electricity Department authorities have been directed to maintain uninterrupted power supply at all the centres.District Medical and Health Officers (DMHOs) have been directed to arrange medical assistance and depute a nurse or ANM staff member at each examination centre.Meanwhile, police and revenue officials have been asked to close down Xerox centers located near exam venues during exam hours to prevent paper leakage and corruption attempts.The board also said that provision of drinking water, wall clocks and furniture will be ensured at all the centres. Officials clarified that no student will be made to sit on the floor for written exams.
The question papers have already been sent.
TGBIE said that all the question papers and answer booklets have already been dispatched to the districts to be distributed to the examination centers ahead of the examinations.Officials of Regional Joint Directors of Intermediate Education and TGBIE Headquarters at Hyderabad will be deputed as observers in the districts throughout the examination schedule.The board warned that strict action would be taken against any official or management violating the examination norms or facilitating the lapse.
Hall ticket through QR-code enabled system
In a major digital move, the board said hall tickets will be sent to students through mobile links. The admit cards will have QR codes which can be scanned to access the exact location of the examination centre.Students are advised to carefully verify the details like name, medium and subjects mentioned on their hall tickets. Any discrepancy should be rectified by the Principal of the College concerned before the date of examination.The board clarified that no candidate will be allowed to enter the examination hall without the hall ticket issued by TGBIE.
Students were asked to report one hour earlier
The board has issued strict reporting guidelines for the candidates. First year students have been instructed to report to the examination centers by 8 am, while second year candidates have to reach by 1:30 pm. The early reporting system has been introduced to curb corruption and streamline the verification process, officials said.Students will be allowed to verify their bio-data on OMR sheets between 8:45 am to 9 am for first year examinations, and between 2:15 pm to 2:30 pm for second year examinations. The question papers will be distributed immediately after the verification process is completed.
