Students across the state, who appeared for the exams held earlier this year, are waiting for the official announcement of the result date.The Higher Secondary Examinations were held from March 2 to March 26, 2026, in which around eight lakh students appeared across Tamil Nadu.The department had earlier planned to release the results by May 8, but now there may be a delay till the new education minister takes over and gives the clearance, TOI had earlier reported. In many cases, the results are released only after the Minister’s verbal or formal approval.An official confirmed to IANS news agency that the examination of the answer sheets was completed between April 6 and April 20, and the marks have already been uploaded on the official portal.According to reports, an official communication will be issued a day before the declaration of results.Academicians and school representatives have urged the authorities to release the results without further delay, saying the timely announcement helps students plan admissions and avoid uncertainty during the higher education process.
