By Taapsee Pannu

Taapsee PannuWhat was recently seen in Assi speaks to society’s fixation on achieving a perfectly flat stomach, demanding that women not push themselves to unhealthy extremes to achieve unrealistic beauty standards.Taking to her Instagram stories on Sunday, Taapsee reflected on her struggle with body image and revealed how she pushed herself too hard in a bid to get rid of her lower belly fat.She said: “I had to talk about this obsession with having a flat driff. I remember having this obsession because I was so fit growing up, but I never understood why the bottom fat always remained. I worked hard almost to an extent, I pushed myself too much and rightly said that by pushing your brain rings your body needs protection. So instead of actually losing water retention, the body starts to retain it and then that lower belly fat, which is maybe not just fat, but also water retention, gets stuck and gets bigger by working out too much and that’s something I really think people shouldn’t do.”The actress emphasized that women’s bodies work differently and are subject to constant hormonal fluctuations, so it is unrealistic to expect the same look every day.She continued: “She can’t look like another girl, so you have to accept this. I accepted it very late after torturing myself, and then I realized that some days it happens and some days it doesn’t. My nutritionist Munmun Ganeriwal explained to me how important it is to have that little bit of fat, that little bit of water retention because your organs are protected and they have to be under the protection of virtues. You need that protection because you’re a woman.”Encouraging women to prioritize health over social media ideals, Taapsee emphasized that a small amount of fat and water retention around the lower abdomen serves an important purpose.“It’s healthy for you, so please don’t torture yourself to get those perfect Instagram photos. It’s supposed to be healthy to have that bump and have that little bit of fat. Please don’t torture yourself,” she added.
