PUNE: The Surya Dutta Institute of Management and Mass Communication (SIMMC) of the Surya Dutta Education Foundation has been awarded the prestigious IMC Ramakrishna Bajaj National Quality Award (RBNQA) for excellence in education. The institute was awarded a ‘Certificate of Appreciation’ in recognition of its academic quality, continuous improvement and best management practices. The award ceremony was held recently at IMC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Churchgate, Mumbai. Along with Nobel laureate Kailash Satyarthi, organizations like Jindal Stainless Steel, Hissar, and GMR Varora Engineering Limited were also honored at the event.Former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar presented the award. He was welcomed by Surya Dutt Founder President and Chairman Dr Sanjay B Chordia, Vice President and Secretary Sushma S Chordia, Associate Vice President Snehal Nawalkha, and HOD Dr Manisha Kambhar. Dignitaries including IMC President Sunita Ram Nathkar, RBNQA Trust Chairman Neeraj Bajaj, Dr. Medha Deshmukh, Dr. Vivek Swamy, Dr. Sheetal Bhusare, and Prof. Smita Chavan were present. The national level recognition is expected to further strengthen the institution’s journey in providing quality education.Speaking on the occasion, Gavaskar emphasized that discipline, teamwork and consistency are essential for success. Drawing synergy between sports and institutional excellence, he said continuous efforts are necessary to achieve quality standards. He added that students should be encouraged to imbibe these values ​​from an early age and actively participate in sports for overall physical and mental well-being.In his address, Satyarthi said that quality is not limited to action but should also include values, ethics and social responsibility.
