‘Karuppu’ finally hit the theaters on May 15 after facing massive release delays and cancellation of morning shows a day earlier. Starring in the much awaited action drama Suriya and Trisha Krishnan It originally premiered on May 14 with early morning special screenings. However, money and distribution issues delayed the release, disappointing many fans who had pre-purchased tickets. After several hours of tension and online debate, the film finally started airing on Friday (May 15). Soon after the first shows of the first day ended, fans took to social media platform X to share their reactions.

Fans celebrate ‘Karuppu’ interval block and Suriya’s mass moments

Most of the initial reactions online praised the film’s interlude sequence and Suriya’s powerful screen presence. A fan wrote, “Yov RJ Balaji… You killed the interval sequence,” praising composer Sai Abhyankkar for his energetic background score. Another viewer posted, “Karuppu first part wow… Goosebumps interval. Sai Abhyankkar what a BGM. God mode on.” Many fans described the interval block as one of the highlights of the film. RJ Balaji‘s direction gets initial positive reactions

Director RJ Balaji also received a lot of appreciation from the audience after the initial shows. Some fans compared his emotional storytelling style to his earlier hit ‘Mookuthi Amman’.
