Recently, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Joseph Vijay sent his best wishes to the team after its strong box office. He spoke to producer SR Prabu and congratulated him on the success of the film.

Makers sharing post meeting CM Vijay

The makers of “Karuppu” took to the official social media to share that the team met actor-turned-politician and Tamil Nadu CM Vijay. The makers posted a picture from their meeting and wrote, “We are delighted that our Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru.Joseph Vijay, has congratulated and congratulated our producer @prabhu_sr on the grand success of @Suriya_offl’s #Karuppu. It’s really wonderful and heartening for our whole team to receive his wishes.” A meeting was held where producer SR Prabhu along with members of Tamil Film Active Producers Association attended the Chief Minister. He was joined by a group from the film industry, including the president, general secretary, treasurer, vice presidents and joint secretaries of the association, among others.

About ‘Karuppu’

In ‘Karuppu’, Suriya plays Saravana, a lawyer who later takes on the guise of local deity Karuppusamy. The story follows a father and daughter caught up in a corrupt legal system. Apart from directing the film, RJ Balaji also plays the main villain. It also stars Indrans, Natty, Swasika, Sshivada, Anagha Maya Ravi and Supreeth Reddy in important roles. Sai Abhyankkar has composed the music.

‘Karuppu’ box office collection

Talking about the live box office numbers of the film, as of the evening of May 19, the film has earned 1.99 crores today in 2,407 shows. This takes the gross collections in India to 97.65 crores. Also, the film has collected 142.30 crores worldwide till now.
