Rohtak: In a major push to make competitive exam preparation accessible to government school students, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda on Monday launched the new session of the ‘Super 40’ program in Rohtak, calling it a “model of transformation in public education”.“The objective of this initiative is to provide high quality coaching for JEE, NEET And NDA candidates were launched at Government Girls Senior Secondary School on Hisar Road here. On the occasion, Minister Dhanda announced a grant of Rs 5 lakh from his discretionary fund to strengthen infrastructure and educational support under the programme.Highlighting the state’s commitment to equitable education, the Minister said that no child should be deprived of opportunities due to lack of resources. “Government school students are second to none. With the right guidance, discipline and consistent effort, they can achieve any goal,” he said after interacting with the first batch of students and taking stock of feedback from the recent crash course.Designed to bridge the gap between public and private education systems, Super 40 offers a competitive learning environment with structured coaching, experienced faculty drawn from public schools, and regular assessment. This program ensures that talented students get competitive preparation from leading private coaching institutes.Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta He said the initiative takes inspiration from Haryana’s flagship ‘Super 100’ program but expands its reach to include a wider pool of students. “Super 40 is about inclusion and opportunity. We are bringing quality coaching within the public school ecosystem so that access to talent is not limited.” He said.The program is set to expand further with a one-year structured course for classes 11 and 12, along with a two-year phased preparation model based on NCERT focusing on conceptual clarity, regular testing and performance tracking.With a clear focus on preparing students for premier institutes like the IITs, AIIMS and the National Defense Academy, officials believe the move will also challenge the perception that quality competitive coaching is limited to private institutes.Terming it a systemic change, Gupta said it aims to make government schooling synonymous with excellence and competitiveness, ensuring that opportunity reaches the last mile.
