Gaten Matarazzo, the ‘Stranger Things’ star who won hearts with his role as Dustin Henderson, is heading straight to Broadway after starring in the beloved series. Making her London stage debut, the 23-year-old actor has signed on for an exciting revival of Jonathan Larson’s musical ‘Rent’, which opens in the West End this autumn.

It will premiere on October 8, 2026, after the stage performances from September 26, the famous musical will get a new production. The revival will be directed by Luke Sheppard, who recently won an Olivier Award from the London Society of Theater for ‘Paddington: The Musical’.Sophie Friedman, the musical’s producer, says she knows the demographic well after the premiere of the original 30 years ago. Citing his excitement, he said: “And how excited they’ll be to see Gat on stage. And to present something like Rent in the UK is really exciting. It’s going to bring in a new audience, just like our play did, and we think that’s really special,” according to Deadline.
