SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Educational qualification
- Candidates must have passed class 12 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university by 1st August 2026.
- Only candidates with shorthand skills will be eligible to appear in the examination.
Age Limit for Grade C Posts:
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 30 years
For Grade D Posts:
- Minimum Age: 18 years
- Maximum Age: 27 years
- Age will be calculated on 1st August 2026.
- Age relaxation will be provided to Scheduled Caste (SC), Schedule Tribe (ST), Other Backward Classes (OBC), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD) and Ex-servicemen as per government rules.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026: OTR Required.
Candidates have to complete One Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC portal before filling the application form. Previous registration done on old platform will not be valid for this recruitment.The Commission has also advised the candidates to use Aadhaar based authentication to facilitate the verification process during the examination.
SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
The examination will be conducted as an open competitive examination in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. The documents will be verified by the concerned departments after the declaration of final results.Candidates have to produce original certificates, mark sheets and proof of educational qualification during verification. If they fail to do so, their candidature may be cancelled.
