Director SS Rajamouli once revealed how the brilliant introduction sequence was shot.How Rajamouli Jr NTR scene was shotSpeaking at a 2023 event organized by the Hollywood Critics Association, SS Rajamouli explained how the sequence was executed on set.As mentioned by OTT Play, Rajamouli also spoke about his collaboration with cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar. “This is my eighth film with him. We have a great understanding of how to deal with these things,” he added.Rajamouli explained that the jungle sequences came with huge logistical challenges, especially to capture the constant movement along with Jr NTR’s run.He said, “When Bheem was running in the jungle, the camera was passing parallel. We couldn’t fit a vehicle. A parkour artist was holding the camera and running. Initially, we tried it with a fighter. Fighters are light and quite fast. Guys,” he said.NTR’s speed pushes the camera operator to the limitThe director also talked about how the actual rehearsal changed the expectations on set because of Jr NTR’s speed and stamina.“In one rehearsal, the way NTR was walking, the camera had to pan and catch him from behind. I remember the look on that guy’s face. He said, ‘OK, I’ve got to put my running shoes back on.’ He had to run really fast to catch up with him,” he added.The physical transformation of Jr NTR’s role was achieved through intense training by renowned trainer Lloyd Stevens.Rajamouli praises the actors’ dedication and ‘RRR’ legacyOpening up about the overall production of the film, Rajamouli appreciated his lead actors and expressed their commitment to making mistakes.“I am lucky to get my lead actors – Ram Charan and Jr NTR. Both are very good actors, and dancers, they do all the stunts on their own. I hardly used body doubles for 3 or 4 shots at most. Every single shot they took a rest was done by them. They are very good and very committed. Even though it was a small role, Alia (Bhatt. All of them) gave a great performance. Out of the 12 films I have done so far, these are the best performances I have had.
