While fans are often loved by stars, sometimes when people cross the line, it’s one of the side effects of fame and stardom. This has been seen many times at live events and even singers live. After an incident involving Jasmine Sandlas, singer Sonu Nigam has now spoken after a fan intrusion at his recent concert in Kolhapur. The singer took to Instagram the day after the event and shared a video from the performance, expressing her dismay at the security breach. In the caption, “Kyon Pitne vaale Kaam karte ho audience?” he wrote Is baar toh bachaa liya, har baar nahi bacha paunga. (Why do you do things that will get you beaten, listener? I saved you this time, but I won’t be able to save you every time).
The incident happened when Sonu was performing one of his popular songs on stage. In the clip, the singer suddenly backs off mid-performance as a man in a white T-shirt comes on stage to touch his feet and seek a blessing. The interruption forced Sonu to stop singing for a moment, after which he sarcastically reacted, “Waah, Shabhash!”Although security personnel rushed in to remove the fan, Sonu chose not to react aggressively. Instead, he briefly pushed the man back and even handed him the microphone, letting him sing a few lines. The fan then performed a short segment of “Chori Kiya Re Jiya,” gently picking up where the singer left off. After finishing, the man said loudly, “Kolhapur loves you,” as Sonu appeared visibly uneasy after the break. The video soon grabbed attention online, and interestingly, the fan involved commented on Sonu’s Instagram post, “It’s me, thank you sir.” Another user quickly responded, saying, “Bhai Caption Padh le (Brother read the caption).”Several social media users praised Sonu for handling the situation calmly. One commenter said: “Unbelievable how gracefully you handled it. Let the man sing too. The craziest man kept singing even after he jumped on stage. Fan favorite for a reason”, while another user stated: “This shouldn’t be done. It breaks the artist’s rhythm and the audience doesn’t like repeating it. It will also lead to incidents like this.“Notably, similar incidents involving overzealous fans have also occurred at concerts by singers such as Atif Aslam, Sunanda Sharma and Jasmine Sandlas earlier this year.
