In a recent interview, Soha Ali Khan opened up about this phase when her mother was diagnosed with early stage lung cancer.In a special Mother’s Day episode of Soha’s ‘All About Her’ podcast featuring Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni, Soha reflected on how the experience transformed her relationship with her mother and encouraged their family to communicate more openly.Speaking about the moment Sharmila Tagore shared her diagnosis, Soha said, “My mother and I never got on the phone to say ‘I love you’ to each other. In fact, when he told me that he was diagnosed with early stage lung cancer, he said that it’s because we don’t express ourselves enough, and we need to communicate more as a family.” He even revealed that his mother found a book that emphasized the importance of emotional expression within families.“He read a book that talked about the importance of expressing emotions. We were never very demonstrative, you know, like some families,” adds Soha. Reflecting on generational differences in expressing love, the actor said, “Even people of that generation didn’t really know how to express love. Maybe people weren’t that expressive back then.”Soha Ali Khan has been in the Hindi film industry for almost two decades and is known for films like Rang De Basanti, Tum Mile, Khoya Khoya Chand and Dhoondte Reh Jaaoge.
