Maisie Adam is a British comedian with a sharp wit who has appeared on many comedy panel shows such as ‘8 Out Of 10 Cats’, ‘Mock The Week’, ‘QI’, ‘Have I Got News For You’ and ‘Would I Lie To You?’. Known for his sharp wit and captivating stage presence, the Yorkshire-born stand-up has made a name for himself on television and on the stand-up comedy stage. Now 32, the comedian is celebrating a special occasion by returning to the Soccer Aid pitch for a special charity game.According to the Daily Record, Maisie Adam is returning to Soccer Aid 2026 to celebrate her third wedding anniversary with husband Michael Dobinson this year. The comedian married within 48 hours of his Soccer Aid match in June 2023, exchanging vows with Dobinson a day before Manchester United took to the pitch at Old Trafford.
Maisie Adam’s whirlwind wedding experience
Maisie and Michael exchanged vows at a ceremony in Brighton, and the newlyweds shared a carousel of festive images on Instagram. One shot shows them on the shore of the old quay, another captures them being showered with confetti after walking down the aisle, while a third shows the pair sitting on deck as Maisie holds her wedding bouquet in the air in celebration.The series of sweet wedding photos comes with the saying, “We did it.” A host of stars turned out to congratulate the couple, including Katherine Ryan, Suzi Ruffell, Jamie Redknapp and fellow comic Izzy Christiansen.
The surreal 48 hours between the wedding and Soccer Aid
Maisie previously tells the story of the special time to various outlets. “It was the day after my wedding so I was hungover. For Soccer Aid, you go to training on Thursday, Friday and Saturday and I had to leave on Saturday to get married! We got married in Brighton and then the next day at 10am a car comes to take you to Old Trafford.”“It was such a surreal 48 hours because I got married and then I was on a bus sitting next to Nani (Portuguese footballer) and across from Roberto Carlos and then on the other side was Lee Mack. I thought, ‘How did I end up here?'” he recalls.At the time, Maisie confirmed the news on ITV1’s Soccer Aid for Unicef, saying: “I’ve been watching this as a fan for years and it’s a real honor to finally be a part of it. I’ve been more nervous about it than the wedding.”
Maisie Adam Soccer Aid will return to 2026
Maisie shows off her fancy footwork once again as she joins Celebrities for England Soccer Aid 2026. The Unicef Children’s Charity Football Match will be held at the London Stadium on Sunday 31st May at 18:30.Participating stars include Jill Scott, Jermain Defoe, Jack Wilshere, Danny Dyer and Tom Hiddlestonand Netflix’s ‘Adolescence’ star Owen Cooper, who at 16 makes history by becoming Soccer Aid’s youngest player. The match is also broadcast on ITV and ITVX channels for those unable to get tickets.Maisie Adam became engaged to Dobinson in December 2021, announcing the news on social media ahead of her whirlwind wedding celebration just months before her Soccer Aid debut.
