Officials described him as a “key conspirator”, saying the adult content was created in India and distributed through subscription-based mobile apps. According to investigators, the material was uploaded through foreign-linked platforms to avoid domestic regulations. The case referred to provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Information Technology Act and the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, with various people allegedly involved in production, management and money-making.Kundra has repeatedly denied all the accusations, saying that the content in question was erotic rather than pornographic. After almost two months in prison, he was granted bail in September 2021. Since then, legal proceedings and investigations have continued, and Kundra now seeks closure and relief from what he describes as a long-running legal backlog.
