A Shania Twain biopic is in the works
Deadline reported that a biopic about the life of Shania Twain is in the works. Not only that, the 60-year-old will also join the project as a producer. Titled ‘Shania’, he will write and direct the film Leah McKendrickand is supposed to be about Twain’s life as a pop icon and what made him famous.McKendrick has worked as a singer and songwriter in the past, including 2013’s ‘Scrambled’ and OTT’s ‘Voicemails for Isabelle’. He also posted about the project on his social media account, sharing how such a dream has come true for him.Posting about the biopic, she wrote: “Long before I started making movies, I was shooting Shania music videos in my bedroom. This wild heart of a woman means so much to me – and to the world. It’s a surreal dream come true to bring her heartwarming, gut-wrenching and terrifying story to the screen (and I ride horses!) I eat the process of honor. READY. Let’s go girls.”Not much else has been revealed about the upcoming film, as it is in the early stages of development. However, it has been reported that the film will follow the journey from a nobody in Windsor, Ontario to becoming one of the biggest music legends of the 90s.Some of his biggest hits that have garnered him a lot of attention include ‘You’re Still The One’, ‘I’m Gonna Getcha Good’, ‘Any Man of Mine’ and ‘I’m Gonna Getcha Good’ to name a few.

On the work front, Twain is gearing up to release her 7th official studio album titled ‘Little Miss Twain’ which will be released next month. Speaking with PEOPLE, Twain explained what the album will be about. She said: “I’m going to be 60 and I feel great and I have to celebrate that. I’m grateful that I’ve come this far. So I was celebrating that with Queen of Me music. But who makes you fundamentally. I never shared that with the fans.”Her latest studio album, ‘Little Miss Twain’, will be her first since 2023, when she released ‘Queen of Me’. His latest album will be released on July 24.
