About the FIFA World Cup
The FIFA tournament kicks off on June 11 with Mexico taking on South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The final is scheduled for July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, outside New York City.Shakira is no stranger to World Cup anthems. His song “Waka Waka (This Time For Africa)” was the official song of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
About the song ‘Dai Dai’
“Dai Dai” is not to be confused with Coca-Cola’s official 2026 FIFA World Cup anthem, a remake of Van Halen’s “Jump” featuring Colombian singer J Balvin, drummer Travis Barker, pop/R&B singer Amber Mark and guitarist Steve Vai.Mark’s rich and crystalline voice is the first to be heard on the track; sings the original English lyrics of the song. Vai transforms his iconic guitar; Barker turns up his percussion. The biggest difference is found in Balvin’s contributions. He penned a new verse – in Spanish – over his collaborator LEXVZ’s production, describing the sound to the Associated Press in March as “Brazilian funk with hard strings, like hip-hop.”“‘Jump’ is not a soccer song,” he said of the original, using the Spanish word for soccer. “So that’s why I had to put my love of Latin and my passion for soccer (in the lyrics).”That’s what Shakira certainly knows a thing or two about.
