In recent years, the issue of expenses surrounding Bollywood stars has become a hot topic of discussion. Several industry experts have pointed out that the ever-increasing expense of providing multiple empty vans on set adds to the overall budget of the film without actually adding value. In the midst of this ongoing debate, choreographer Shabina Khan offered a refreshing take, sharing that work. Salman Khan it’s a completely different experience. The superstar doesn’t let his entourage speak for him and makes sure the entire crew is well-fed on set.
Salman Khan talks directly to everyone on set
In an interview with Hindi Rush, Shabina revealed that most leading actors today are surrounded by a crew of at least 15 people at all times. Anyone on set who wants to talk to the actor is expected to go through the group. “Nowadays actors go with big teams and if you haven’t made a name for yourself, you won’t be allowed to talk to the actor directly. The team will say, ‘Tell us what you want to say and we’ll broadcast it,'” he said, adding: “It’s different with Salman because he’ll sit with everyone, and then everyone on his set follows. He’ll talk to everyone.”

When asked to talk more about the food on Khan’s plate, Shabina had nothing but praise, saying it is truly exceptional. He shared that Salman personally makes sure that every person on the set is properly fed. This is in stark contrast to many other film settings where there is a clear hierarchy around food. Daily wagers, such as lightmen and spot boys, are often served different food and of poorer quality, while actors and department heads tend to receive much better meals.

Shabina also spoke about her time working with Salman in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’. He shared that Rajshri Productions does not allow vegetarian food on the sets, but Salman ensured that no one went without. He would personally invite everyone to his bungalow to eat. “Non-veg food is allowed on Rajshri sets. Everyone knows that. So Salman would really think about these people. Salman would have his own bungalow on the set, and he would call everyone there to eat,” he shared, adding, “You know you’re going to get 7-star food. Helpers, dancers, small artists, he fed them all.’
Salman Khan brings a kitchen van to the sets
He also revealed that Salman has taken it a step further by bringing in a full kitchen van with a set menu. But what makes it even more special is that if someone wants something that is not on the menu, it is prepared fresh for them right there. “Now, Being Human brings a van to the set. It’s a full kitchen. There’s a full menu in there, but if you want to eat anything off the menu, that’s cooked for you,” he said.
