Santhosh Nair He died as a result of a road accident. The incident took place at Enathu in Pathanamthitta. The car he was traveling in hit a truck.
His wife, Shubhashree, was also injured in the mishap. While undergoing treatment, the actor suffered a heart attack. He later succumbed to his condition. The truck driver also sustained injuries, Manorama Online reported.
Santhosh Nair’s career began in 1982
Santhosh Nair made his film debut with the 1982 film ‘Ithu Njangalude Katha’. He starred in more than 100 films and portrayed villains, leading roles, supporting characters and comedy parts.
Born on November 12, 1960 in Thiruvananthapuram, Santhosh Kesavan Nayar grew up in a well-educated family. His father, CN Kesavan Nair, was a retired director. His mother, P. Rajalakshmiamma, was a retired teacher.
He spent his early years in Pettah with his two sisters. He was raised by his maternal grandparents after his parents moved to Ethiopia. He studied at the Secondary School of San Jose. Later, he pursued higher studies in mathematics at Mahatma Gandhi College.
During his university days, he was actively involved in politics. While his sisters became gynecologists, he chose acting as his career path.
“Mohiniyattam” marks the last appearance
His latest film, ‘Mohiniyattam’ is out in theatres. The film is now his last screen appearance.
‘Bharathanatyam 2: Mohiniyattam’, starring Saiju Kurup, is gearing up for a digital release. The film hits theaters on April 10 and serves as a sequel to Bharathanatyam (2024). The film will start streaming on Netflix from May 8.
Directed by Krishnadas Murali, the story follows Sasidharan Nair’s family, caught in a tense situation. The cast includes Suraj Venjaramoodu, Santhosh Nair, Vinay Forrt and Jagadish.
