In an interview with News18, Saif spoke about his experience working with Shah Rukh’s production house, saying that the superstar personally approached him for ‘Kartavya’ and asked him to listen to the script. Opening up about their association, she said, “I have had a beautiful and long relationship with Shah Rukh. He is someone I appreciate in many, many ways. I had a brief meeting with him. He said there is a beautiful script and he would like me to listen to it and make the film. I went through the process of auditioning and meeting the director (Pulkit). When the shoot was over and Shah Rukh watched it, he said the film is beautiful. He is very happy with it. That was the limit of my relationship with him. I didn’t meet him on the set, because he is one of the producers who believes that a director is free to make and make the film he wants to make.”Saif Ali Khan added, “Sometimes certain types of presence can be overwhelming on the sets and he understands that. He gave us a lot of space to make the film we wanted to make. So that was his involvement. I felt like I was working for his production with his sensibility. But for that, it didn’t require day-to-day involvement.”
