Robert Lewandowski announced on Saturday that he will leave FC Barcelona at the end of his contract this summer. The 37-year-old striker confirmed his departure in a post on Instagram after spending four seasons with the Spanish club.
“After four years full of challenges and hard work, it’s time to move on,” Lewandowski said.
“I left feeling mission accomplished. Four seasons, three championships.”
Lewandowski joined Barcelona in 2022 from Bayern Munich for €45 million ($53m). Since then, he has scored 119 goals in 191 appearances across all competitions.
During his time at Barcelona, Lewandowski helped the club win three La Liga titles, including the 2025–26 season, as well as three Spanish Supercopa trophies and a Copa del Rey title in 2025.
The Poland international joined Barcelona at a time when the club was struggling financially and trying to rebuild. He played a major role in helping the team return to the top of Spanish football and take part in the Champions League again.
“Barca is back where it belongs,” added Lewandowski.
“I will never forget the love I received from the fans from my first days. Catalonia is my place on earth.”
Lewandowski is set to play his final match at the Camp Nou on Sunday against Real Betis.
That season, he shared the No. 9 role with Ferran Torres and moved in and out of the starting lineup. Nevertheless, he scored 18 goals as Barcelona won La Liga and the Spanish Supercopa.
