Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Friday created an unwanted IPL record after Gujarat Titans batsman Sai Sudharsan scored a century against them at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in an IPL 2026 match.With Sudharsan’s century, RCB became the team with the most individual centuries in IPL history.Most individual centuries by a team in IPL:

Sudharsan returned to form with a 57-ball century, his third in the IPL and first of the 2026 season. Opening the innings with skipper Shubman Gill, they put on a 128-run stand for the first wicket as RCB opted to bowl first.His innings gave Gujarat a solid foundation for a big score.Sudharsan also entered the IPL record books by becoming the fastest batsman to complete 2000 runs in the tournament on Friday.The GTK opener reached the milestone in just 47 innings, surpassing Chris Gayle, who took 48 to reach 2000 IPL runs.Sudharsan needed 72 runs to break the match record. With this innings, he crossed his total of 2,000 runs.Batting first, Gujarat Titans finished at 205/5 in 20 overs, with the RCB bowlers managing to control things better in the death overs after Sudharsan’s century.Earlier, Royal Challengers Bengaluru captain Rajat Patidar won the toss and elected to bowl against Gujarat Titans in their IPL clash here on Friday.England batsman Jacob Bethel is set for his first match of the season after replacing the injured Phil Salt in the only change to RCB’s line-up.The Shubman Gill-led GT made a few changes, debuting Windies fast all-rounder Jason Holder while Manav Sothar also returned to the playing XI.
