New Delhi: Almost a year after a stampede broke out outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL 2025 title celebrations, the Bengaluru Police has issued a strict advisory ahead of the IPL 2026 final. RCB and Gujarat Titans on Sunday.With excitement across the city as RCB chases its second IPL crown, officials have urged fans to celebrate responsibly and avoid activities that could lead to crowding, public disorder or safety concerns. Special security and traffic arrangements are being made to ensure that the celebrations do not get out of hand.In its advisory, the Bengaluru police directed citizens not to gather at public places to celebrate immediately after the final results. Installation of LED screens in front of public roads without prior approval has also been banned.

The authorities further directed malls, pubs and other establishments not to organize live screenings in areas visible to the general public. The use of firecrackers and other harmful substances during the celebrations has also been banned.The police have also cracked down on activities like bike rallies, speeding, stunt riding, unnecessary honking and roadblocks and have warned that strict action will be taken against violators.Citizens are advised against consuming alcohol in public, creating disturbances, engaging in fights or indecent behavior during post-match celebrations.The advisory also warned people against sharing inflammatory content, rumors or hateful messages on social media. Fans are urged not to target or jeer supporters of rival teams, as such behavior could lead to unnecessary confrontations.Appealing for public cooperation, the Bengaluru police said maintaining safety, peace and order during the high-profile final is a collective responsibility and urged fans to celebrate responsibly.
