Recalling her teenage years, Farah said she was around 15 years old when Rakesh, then around 25, was studying at the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII).He fondly remembered those days, saying, “FTII se yeh log roz aate the Javed uncle aur Honey aunty ke ghar free ka khaana aur free ki daaru peene, aate the wahan par toh we used to meet all of them (Every day they came from FTII to Javed uncle and Honey aunty’s house where we met for free food and free drink).Farah added that Rakesh often arrived with a close group of friends who were inside Farooq Shaikh, Satish Shah, Neena Guptaand Supriya Pathak. “He used to come with Farooq Shaikh, Satish Shah, Neena Gupta and Supriya Pathak. Humari puraani dosti hai (we are old friends) but we meet after a long time,” he said, adding that Rakesh continued this routine for several years.After Satish Shah passed away in 2025, Rakesh shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, writing, “How much I miss you my friend. You are etched in me” along with a picture of the late actor.He is currently riding high on the success of Rakesh Dhurandhar: The Revenge, where his portrayal of Pakistani politician Jameel Jamali has struck a chord with audiences. Several dialogues from the film have gone viral, which has made it a huge hit at the box office. The film has collected over 1.75 billion worldwide and over 1 billion in India.
