Ranveer Singh has found a fan in the actor Rajkummar Rao and the proof is in his words of admiration for the star and his performance in ‘Dhurandhar’.

Rajkummar, who had earlier praised the film on social media, went on to praise the actor and its director, Aditya Dhar, for their work in the spy genre. In a video shared online by Always Bollywood, Rao, who was promoting ‘Toaster’, revealed that he watched the film with his wife Patralekha and was very impressed by the story and performances. “We’ve both seen it and we both absolutely love it. I think Aditya’s film language, the way he does his craft, is phenomenal. I’ve never seen a spy movie like this come out of India in my entire life. The way he portrayed him and Ranveer in it was brilliant, absolutely brilliant. We both really enjoyed it. I think his passion, his storytelling, his use of music, everything, there was a lot to learn. A very new kind of filmmaking,” he said.Dhar directorial ‘Dhurandhar’ and ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ have both emerged as huge hits at the box office. While the first film crossed the 1.3 billion mark, the second part earned a whopping 1.7 billion and is still working its magic at the box office.

Rao also shared his thoughts in an AMA session on Reddit where he said that he was his favorite character of Ranveer’s Hamza in the film. “I loved Dhurandhar. For me, he was the best character, of course, Hamza and Ranveer played it so well. I messaged him, and we talked on the phone for a long time after I saw Part 1. In fact, whenever I’m inspired by a performance, I call the actor and tell him how impressed I am with their work. And Ranveer did that with ‘Dhurandhar’ and No. I can’t pick a role that I could have done better because all the actors in the film were amazing,” he added.

Rajkummar also took to his Instagram stories to praise the film. In a post on the handle, he wrote, “#DhurandharTheRevenge (red heart emoji) @adityadharfilms Master Filmmaker. You have raised the bar very high bhai.” The actor also offered a heartfelt message to Ranveer, saying, “@ranveersingh Bhai, you have inspired me and how in your perfect tone. The first scene and the last scene and everything in between was pure magic.“

“Dhurandhar: The Revenge” has collected Rs 1,733.20 crore worldwide. It became the first Hindi film to cross the 1 billion nett mark in India, grossing around 1,099.72 crores and grossing 1,316.45 crores in total. It has also become one of the most successful films in overseas markets, earning a collection of Rs 416.75 crores so far.
