NEET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued a statement regarding the ongoing investigation into alleged irregularities related to NEET (UG) 2026 following the action initiated by the Rajasthan Special Operations Group (SOG). The agency said the exam, to be held on May 3, 2026, was conducted under “full security protocol” at all the centres.In a post shared on X, the NTA said that the examination process went ahead as planned and included several security measures such as transportation of question papers through GPS, AI-assisted CCTV surveillance, biometric verification of candidates, and use of 5G jammers at examination centres. The agency said these measures were implemented at all locations on the day of the exam.Details of Security Arrangements for NTA ExamsAccording to the statement, the question papers were transported in GPS-enabled vehicles with unique and recognizable watermark identifiers. The examination halls were monitored through CCTV system with the help of AI connected to the central control room.The agency also said that every candidate appearing for the exam was biometrically verified. Apart from this, 5G jammers were also working at the centers during the conduct of the examination. NTA said that the examination process itself was completed as planned at all the centres.Information regarding alleged misconduct received after investigationThe NTA said it received information about the alleged corrupt activity on the evening of May 7, 2026, four days after the examination was held. According to the agency, the information was forwarded to central agencies on the morning of May 8, 2026 for independent verification and further action.Actions by law enforcement agencies, including arrests reported in the media in recent days, followed by investigations by those agencies, the statement said. The NTA said it was cooperating with authorities by providing testing data and technical assistance required for the inquiry.The agency also placed on record its appreciation for the work done by the investigating agencies in connection with the matter.The agency says the investigation is ongoing.NTA said that the matter is still under investigation and facts related to the case will be established by the agencies involved. The agency said it would not prejudge the inquiry or comment on the potential outcome of the investigation.It added that any findings made by the agencies, including the need for further action, would be transparently reviewed and disclosed in accordance with established procedures.Message for candidates and familiesAddressing the NEET (UG) 2026 candidates and their families, the NTA said the effort and integrity of the majority of genuine candidates “is not in question, and will not be appreciated”.The agency acknowledged the concerns raised by the probe reports and asked the candidates to allow the probe agencies to complete their work. It also states that any necessary steps will be taken in consultation with the Ministry of Education at the appropriate stage.NTA has released a helpline for queries related to NEET (UG) 2026.
