A Marathi movie that tells the story of a Marathi warrior king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharajit has officially crossed the 50 million mark at the worldwide box office.According to a report on Sacnilk, the film which was released in Marathi and Hindi is having a strong run at the box office. The film, which is still in its first week, managed to hit the mark despite a noticeable weekday slowdown.On Day 5 (Tuesday), the film took a dip in the collections, earning approximately Rs 3.35 crore in Marathi from approximately 1,851 shows. The day’s gross collection in Marathi was around 3.95 crore, a decline of 20.4% compared to Monday’s figures.So far, the film has collected a net collection of ₹ 44 crore from 28,868 shows, while the Marathi version has contributed ₹ 30.5 crore. The Hindi version, though relatively slower, has been gaining momentum through positive word of mouth and great feedback from the audience.The film’s Indian gross is currently Rs 52.68 crore, making it one of the most successful Marathi film releases of all time. According to charts, the film has entered the top 5 list of highest grossing Marathi films of all time.The film that reaches the mark of 50 million euros is among the requests Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Ambadas Danve to make the film tax-free in Maharashtra so that more audiences can watch the film. Danve, in a letter to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, stated that the film promotes the work of Shivaji Maharaj and should be declared tax-free, which will make tickets cheaper.The film, which premiered on May 1st, has a group of actors, among others Sanjay DuttAbhishek Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Bhagyashree and Genelia Deshmukh in pivotal roles. It also features Mahesh Manjrekar, Sachin Khedekar, Fardeen Khan, Jitendra Joshi and Amole Gupte.
