The historical epic, currently in its second week in theaters, is slowly making its way into the record books.According to a box office report on Sacnilk, the film has crossed the Rs 20 crore mark in its second week and is now steadily on its way to becoming one of the highest grossing Marathi films of all time. The film, which completed 12 days at the box office, earned around 2.50 crores. 10 lakhs increase from Monday’s box office collections, the film collected 2.40 crores after a good second weekend.The film had a strong start in the first week, collecting 52.65 crores and has maintained an excellent retention in the second week with its collections already reaching 20.5 crores. According to the latest trade data, the film has earned 73.15 crores in net collections from 60,155 impressive shows.‘Raja Shivaji’ has emerged as a major success story of Marathi cinema in 2026 and has reportedly collected Rs 86.65 crore in worldwide gross collections less than 12 days after its theatrical release. Out of this, the total gross collection has come from India alone, the report says.The powerful moment now puts Raja Shivaji on track to become the second highest-grossing Marathi film of all time.As of May 2026, ‘Sairat’ remains the highest grossing Marathi film of all time with a worldwide gross of around 110 crores. However, trade reports indicate that ‘Raja Shivaji’ may soon challenge that benchmark if it continues its pace at the box office. The film will surpass the collections of ‘Baipan Bhaari Deva’ which earned around Rs 90-92 crore worldwide.Also directed by Deshmukh himself, the historical drama has held its own at the box office despite facing competition from several film releases in the past two weeks. Not only did it face Hollywood’s ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’, it also faced competition from newer releases such as the action film ‘Mortal Kombat II’ and the biopic ‘Michael’.
