After the death of his wife Rina Dev in 2009, Rahul Dev stepped away from films and the limelight to raise his son Siddharth as a single parent. The model actress has now opened up about the emotional and professional struggles she went through during that phase, recalling how difficult it was to restart her career after more than four years away from the industry. Rahul admitted that when he finally returned to work in Mumbai, he felt he had been forgotten by the industry despite having done more than 80 films.In an interview with Hindi Rush, Rahul admitted that he was not fully prepared for the challenges of being a single parent. He credited his spiritual guru with helping him navigate through one of the most difficult phases of his life and eventually encouraging him to return to work.“Had guruji not entered my life in 2013, things would have been very difficult for me. I didn’t understand parenthood. My wife died suddenly and I became a single parent of an 11-12-year-old boy. That phase was very difficult,” said Rahul.The actor revealed that he initially struggled with the idea of ​​returning to Mumbai and balancing work with parental responsibilities. According to Rahul, his guru encouraged him to take the leap and trust the process.“He told me to go back and start working again. I was thinking how I would manage everything if I went back to work. Gradually, circumstances changed. My son grew up and had the opportunity to study in London. Even then I was in doubt and wondered how I would manage alone,” shared Rahul.Rahul said his guru once again pushed his son to be independent. “Guruji told me, ‘If he doesn’t go there, what will he do staying here?’ That gave me confidence. When my son went to London, he did really well and became very independent.’After that phase Rahul slowly started rebuilding his career. She revealed that even when the Bigg Boss offer came her way, she wasn’t sure about accepting it.“When the call came from Bigg Boss, I didn’t think I would make it. But guruji told me, ‘Go, you have to start somewhere’. That’s how things slowly started again,” he said.Rahul also spoke candidly about how difficult it was to find a job after returning to the industry. Despite acting in more than 80 films, he felt forgotten after being away for more than four years.“When I came back, I wasn’t getting work. I did 80-81 films, but after four and a half years away, I felt that nobody knew me anymore. People forgot about me,” he confessed.However, the actor said he never blamed the industry for moving forward. Instead, he chose to see the experience as a learning curve.“I can’t blame anyone because times change. I’ve never liked to blame people. I always feel that the most important thing is to learn from experiences. I’m not bitter because I’ve done so much for the industry and that’s what happened. The industry has also given me a lot. It was my choice to leave because of the situation, and I don’t regret it,” said Rahul.
