Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor’s latest release ‘Peddi’ has started its theatrical journey with a strong start at the box office. The sports drama received a great response from the audience on its first day.According to Sacnilk, the initial figures represent a huge jump in profits. As per data reported by Sacnilk, ‘Peddi’ earned Rs 51.00 Cr on Day 1. The collection reflected a growth of 175.7 percent as against the previously recorded figure of 18.50 Cr.The film collected the amount in 12,412 shows on its opening day. The total gross collection in India reached 82.49 Cr. The net collection in India was 69.50 Cr.The overseas market also helped a lot in the release of the movie. The film earned 30.00 Cr internationally. With this, the worldwide gross collection reached 112.49 Cr.

The Telugu market emerges as a major driving force

The Telugu version gave the highest contribution to the overall collection numbers. It earned 47.20 Cr and remained the strongest market for the film. The collections of Tamil reached 45 lakh, while Malayalam brought it to 10 lakh.The state gross report also reflected the dominance of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions. APTG region alone contributed 48.00 Cr. Karnataka added 5.75 Cr to the total figures.Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 1.50 Cr, while Kerala contributed Rs 25 lakh. Other regions added 5.16 Cr.

Occupancy remains stable throughout the day

In theaters too, ‘Peddi’ recorded gratifying occupancy numbers. The Telugu 2D release registered an overall occupancy of 67.92 percent on Day 1.Morning occupancy started at 59.54 percent. The numbers gradually increased in subsequent performances. Evening occupancy was 62.69 percent. Night occupancy reached 72.77 percent, while night shows rose to 76.69 percent.The IMAX Telugu version registered an overall occupancy of 24.44 percent. Meanwhile, the Hindi 4DX format had an overall occupancy of 36.70 percent.

Ram Charan’s performance gets attention

Peddi is set in rural Andhra Pradesh in the 1980s.
