Sam Levinson He has warned ‘Euphoria’ fans not to delay watching the final two episodes of the third season, saying that major spoilers will be released quickly when they arrive. The creator of the HBO drama spoke Wednesday night at the American Cinematheque screening at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica, where he also called the new season “hands down our best” and praised the finale for reaching a level of emotion he only once expected.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Levinson joined the filmmaker Jason Reitman For the performance and discussion related to the last episode of ‘Euphoria’. The American Cinematheque picked up a double feature of the sixth episode of the third season, ‘Stand Still and See’ and ‘Dirty Harry’, which Levinson named as the inspiration for the episode.Levinson told fans to watch episodes seven and eight as soon as they become available in the next 10 days.“If you don’t watch episodes seven and eight live, the minute they come down, they’re going to be spoiled,” he said. “Some great things happen.”Reitman and Levinson discussed the sixth episode with viewers after watching it. Levinson said the episode puts more weight on where the story is going.“Knowing where it’s going at seven and eight, I think this is our best season,” Levinson said.He added that the final has a special emotional force.“I think episode eight in particular reaches a level of poignancy that I could only have dreamed of when I was working on this show,” he said.

Levinson also discussed the season’s use of faith, religious imagery, and symbolism. He said the visual language of religion shaped parts of the episode.“I think there’s a lot to learn from religion, and also, on a purely graphic level, in terms of cinematography and imagery, it’s so full of mythical images that it’s inspiring.”The conversation also turned to Hans Zimmer, who became the sole composer of the season after Labrinth’s departure. Zimmer and Labrinth were first set to work together on the project.“Hans Zimmer has been a blessing because we needed about four and a half hours of music for this season and he was able to make it so cohesive across different genres,” Levinson said. “It’s amazing and I’m so proud.”Levinson also recalled showing Reitman a cut from the “Euphoria” pilot. He said Reitman repeatedly paused, criticized the first 12 minutes, then told him, “Well, the problem is only the first 12 minutes. The rest is great.”
