‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 6 is bringing together a huge cast of British and Irish stars as the Hulu mystery comedy takes its main investigation to London. Steve Martin, Martin Short and Selena Gomez will return as Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam and Mabel Mora. The amateur detectives leave New York after a deadly cliffhanger opens a case linked to England. Production is underway in the UK, but Hulu has not announced a release date.
‘Only Murders in the Building’ Season 6 Cast Revealed
TV Cave reports that the recurring guest cast has grown to 20 actors. Deadline has also confirmed that David Tennant, Jodie Whittaker, Nicola Coughlan, Jim Broadbent, Richard Ayoade, Adrian Lukis and Kathryn Hunter have joined the new season.The latest additions reunite two former “Doctor Who” leads, Tennant and Whittaker. Coughlan and Simone Ashley also join two ‘Bridgerton’ stars.Other confirmed guests include Jennifer Saunders, Martin Freeman, Jamie Demetriou, Sharon Horgan, Derek Jacobi, Geri Halliwell-Horner, Anjana Vasan, Jane Horrocks, Lesley Nicol, Sean Teale, Amar Chadha-Patel and Rhea Norwood. Their characters and connections to the murder remain shrouded in mystery.Michael Cyril Creighton returns as Howard Morris. Da’Vine Joy Randolph is expected to reprise her role as Detective Donna Williams and follow the trio across the Atlantic.
The London mystery follows Cinda Canning’s cliffhanger
Season 5 ended with rival podcaster Cinda Canning, played by Tina Fey, becoming the show’s next murder victim. His latest story had clues connected to England, giving Charles, Oliver and Mabel reason to take the investigation overseas.The sixth season will consist of 10 episodes and will shift much of the action away from Arconia, the Manhattan apartment building at the center of the first five seasons. London will be the main production base for the upcoming event.Fey will reappear despite Cinda’s fate, though the series has not clarified whether the character will appear in flashbacks or through another narrative device.Hulu renewed “Only Murders in the Building” for Season 6 in October 2025 following the season five finale. Filming began in London in May 2026. All five completed seasons are available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in several international markets.
