American singer and songwriter Oliver Tree has tragically died after two helicopters collided in mid-air in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday morning. He was 32 years old.

According to reports from CNN Brazil, Rio de Janeiro’s Civil Police confirmed that Tree was among the victims of the collision, which occurred above the Recreio dos Bandeirantes neighborhood in the west of the city.According to the local authorities, the collision took the lives of six people who were traveling in the two helicopters. One helicopter was carrying five people, and the second plane was occupied only by the pilot.

According to TMZ’s report, Rio de Janeiro’s Military Fire Department said one of the helicopters crashed in the parking lot of a car dealership where several electric vehicles were parked. Videos from the site showed a large fire spreading between the vehicles and then extinguished.According to local reports, Tree was in one of the helicopters along with passengers Lucas Vignale, Gaspar Prim and Lucas Brito Chaves, as well as pilot Alexandre Souza. The pilot of the second helicopter was identified as Charles Marsillac. Authorities have listed six people among the victims.The authorities have launched an investigation to clarify the cause of the collision.
Witnesses remember the “terrible” accident
Tire repair worker Fernandes de Freitas told AP he saw one of the helicopters engulfed in flames after the mid-air collision. He also said he saw a passenger jump from the second plane before it crashed.“It was terrifying, absolutely terrifying,” De Freitas said.
