Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday appealed to Chief Ministers across the country to provide free bus travel facilities to students appearing for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (Undergraduate) NEET UG re-examination 2026 to be held on 21, saying candidates and parents are already facing financial and logistical stress due to the re-examination.In a video message shared on X, Kejriwal said governments should ensure that students reach their exam centers without any problems and called for immediate relief measures before the medical entrance test.
Kejriwal flagged the financial burden associated with re-examination of NEET.
Expressing concern over the impact of the re-examination process, Kejriwal said thousands of families are being forced to spend extra money on travel and related arrangements. He said many students would have to travel long distances to take the test, adding pressure to families already dealing with uncertainty surrounding the retest.He said that free bus travel on exam day can provide direct relief to students and parents and help prevent transport related issues from affecting candidates.Kejriwal also asserted that students should not suffer due to circumstances beyond their control and governments should provide all possible assistance during the examination period.
Bihar and Haryana are involved in increasing transport support in Punjab.
Referring to steps already taken by states, Kejriwal said Bihar and Haryana have followed Punjab’s decision to provide free bus services for NEET UG re-exam candidates.He lauded the states for acting swiftly and said that this move would help make the journey of thousands of students appearing for the examination easier and safer. According to him, such decisions can significantly reduce the tension between candidates and their families.
Demand broader state action before test day.
Kejriwal appealed to other state governments to announce similar facilities before the exam date, stressing that coordinated administrative cooperation is essential given the scale of the re-examination.Candidates from multiple states are expected to appear in the NEET UG re-examination, making transportation and accessibility a concern for many families, especially those traveling from small towns and rural areas.
