NEET UG 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued an advisory for candidates appearing for NEET (UG) 2026 to address the challenges of biometric authentication. The exam is scheduled to be held on May 3, 2026, requiring a mandatory biometric check after the examination and before entering the exam hall.According to the official notice, candidates may face difficulties in biometric verification due to technical issues such as device malfunction, poor fingerprint quality, connectivity issues with UIDAI systems, or medical conditions affecting biometric capture. In such cases, candidates will still be allowed to enter the examination hall after the alternate verification process.Manual Verification Process Outline for ExceptionsNTA has clarified that candidates who do not complete biometric verification will undergo manual identity verification at the examination center. In this process candidates will be required to produce valid identity documents for verification.Additionally, an Undertaking Form shall be made available at the Center by the Center Superintendent or Observer. Candidates will be required to submit this form as part of the verification process. After completion of necessary verification, candidates will be allowed to appear in the examination.Officials have said that candidates will be guided through the procedure at the center to ensure smooth admission without any hurdles. The advisory stresses that candidates should remain calm and cooperate with the examination authorities in such situations.Biometric checks should not disturb the examination timings.The notice further clarified that candidates will not be bothered for the biometric procedure during the examination hours, which are scheduled from 02:00 PM to 5:00 PM. For PwD/PwBD candidates, this period may extend upto 06:00 PM.The purpose of this move is to ensure that no candidate’s performance in the exam is affected due to the verification process after the exam begins.Shashut Tiwari expresses concern over admit card print, NTA responds.A candidate, Shashut Tiwari, raised a question about the admit card print quality, stating that the photograph and signature appeared too small despite multiple attempts with different print settings.Responding to the concern, NTA clarified that candidates can print the admit card as it appears. The agency said there will be no problem at the examination center as long as the person admitted matches the details of the admit card.Candidates are advised to carry their printed admit card and valid identity documents and follow the instructions issued at their respective centers on the day of examination.
