He recalled asking her, “I’ve worked with you so many times, do I still have to audition?”Chitrangada said that Aditya sent him the entire script, which helped him understand the character better. “Initially, I was excited about the film because it would give me an opportunity to work with Nawazuddin Siddiqui. But after reading the script, that reason took a back seat,” he said.The film was shot across Mumbai and Frankfurt, with Chitrangada in Mumbai and Nawazuddin in Germany. He said the two units coordinated calls to action and time zones, making the process feel like a theater.Calling Nawazuddin “an absolute genius”, he said his minimal performance inspired him to bring out the villain in his role. “I was a little clumsy. He’s been my favorite actor,” she said. “Beyond the call, I’m being mean, I’m being bullied.” He added, “I was afraid, ‘Mr Nawaz must hate me because he must think I am like this in real life too’.”
