According to an ANI report, senior advocate Vaibhav Gaggar appeared for Naga Chaitanya in the court. He said many fake AI-generated videos and clips were showing the actor in objectionable situations. He also told the court that some videos falsely linked the actor to his ex-wife and spread claims that he cheated and ruined his career.“This is trolling, this is not fair criticism,” Gaggar told the judge directly.The actor also claimed that several pornographic websites were using his name in domain names, tags and search results. According to the case, this created a false connection between the actor and obscene content online.Justice Jyoti Singh heard the case and also considered the actor’s plea for a dynamic injunction. The actor said new fake and harmful content continues to appear online every day, and strong protection is needed to quickly stop future misuse.
Actors’ group says reputation is being damaged
He also claimed that the actor’s team was damaging his public image and commercial value due to fake videos, voice-cloned clips and manipulated content shared online to get views and money.The case also mentioned that several legal notices had already been sent to platforms and intermediaries. However, the actor said that many of them did not respond properly or only some content was removed.
YouTube has responded in court
During the hearing, the judge said that public figures can have more public attention, but there should still be limits. “You are in public life, you are certainly more vulnerable than other people, but it has its limits,” the court said.Lawyers appearing for YouTube told the court that some of the AI-generated videos mentioned by the actor had already been removed. At the same time, they said that some of the links were related to news reports, where different legal rules may apply.After hearing all sides, the Delhi High Court issued summons in the case and indicated that it would issue an interim injunction to protect the personality rights of the actor while the case continues in court.
