Music composer Amaal Mallik has once again spoken openly about her struggles in the entertainment industry, saying that internal politics and powerful industry figures have greatly influenced her career. After making headlines last year for discussing the challenges of Bollywood, the composer has now alleged that he has been kept away from numerous film opportunities over the years.On Tuesday night, again The Great Boss The 19 finalist shared a note on Instagram, revealing that she believes industry politics has kept her away from work. According to Amaal, he has lost more than 60 film projects since 2019.Addressing his fans, he wrote, “My dear #AMAALIANS, from 2019 to 2026, big boys in powerful positions have pulled me out of over 60 odd projects. 20 films toh maine khud hi mana kar diye, it was beneath me to work on those setups. The musician in me couldn’t respect himself. I still did my part and will do my best to put music and record videos whenever possible for my fans, with or without movies. No regrets at all, it’s their loss.“He also apologized to the audience, perhaps explaining why his music has decreased in films, explaining that despite years of effort and commitment, things have not worked out for him.“But somehow it becomes a loss for my listeners and fans, and I’m sorry for that, but I have to make it clear to you all. I’ve been trying my best for the last 8 years, with great honesty and of course some respectful working terms and conditions, but unfortunately it’s not working for this place. Also, it’s my truth and inability to work for this place. To my family and to unnecessary threats, there’s a very strong group of people who don’t want me to be a part of their movies or any movies, in fact, and it’s not just LABELS, it’s out there, NOW, it’s a mixed union of egotistical human beings,” the statement continued.Amaal also suggested that he may finally reveal the names, criticizing what he described as years of backroom politics.“I won’t name them today, but someday their time will come, and the gentleman above will show them their place. They’ve all been doing award-winning politics for almost 8 years, and that’s why you hear less of my music in movies. I can’t be part of a power, or a small gang.” NEPOTISM doesn’t work either. Earlier this year, in an interview with Pinkvilla, he highlighted the issue of compensation and rights for composers.Reflecting on one of his biggest songs, he said, “Roy’s Sooraj Dooba Hai earned 60-70 crores for the label, and I haven’t got anything from the publishing rights, which are paltry, not even close to a crore.”Talking more about financial rights and creative ownership, he added, “I want to make that kind of money to help people. I do it in my own way, I don’t want to talk about it, but I want money to help people. That can only come if I have rights or equal rights or some kind of rights. The 10-15 million euros fees that southern composers get, compared to Hindi music composers who get 2-3 million euros and are denied all rights. It’s not money to cry, but money is something that makes it easier for someone with a heart like mine to help people.”
