The University of Mumbai will release the first merit list for Undergraduate (UG) admissions 2026 today on May 26 for the academic session 2026-27. Students applying for admission in various affiliated and autonomous colleges under the university will be able to check the merit list from 11 am onwards.Candidates can access the merit list through the official website mu.ac.in and the websites of their respective colleges.Admission is being conducted for several undergraduate courses, including Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), and Bachelor of Science (BSc) programs.
How to check University of Mumbai First Merit List 2026
Students can follow these simple steps to download the merit list:
- Visit the official website of the University of Mumbai at mu.ac.in.
- Open the Undergraduate Admissions Portal.
- Click on the link for First Merit List 2026.
- Select the college and course applied for.
- Enter login details if required.
- The merit list will appear on the screen.
- Download and save it for future reference.
Admission process after release of merit list
Students whose names appear in the first merit list will have to complete document verification and fee payment between May 27 to May 29 to confirm their admission.The university has said that the admission will be given on the basis of the marks obtained in the class 12 examination. As per the admission rules, marks in “best five” subjects will be considered while preparing the merit ranking and cut-off.After the completion of the first round of admissions, the university will release further merit lists depending on the number of vacant seats.According to the schedule, the second merit list will be released on May 30, while the third merit list will be released on June 4.The classes for the new academic session will start from 13 June 2026.
UG admission deadline extended.
Mumbai University had earlier extended the last date for undergraduate admission registration till May 23 after revising its admission schedule.The entire admission process is being done through a centralized online portal, which allows students to apply for multiple colleges and courses under the university through one platform.
PG admissions are also going on.
Meanwhile, the university is also accepting applications for various postgraduate programmes, including one-year postgraduate diploma courses, two-year postgraduate programmes, fourth year honors courses, and research programs with fourth year honours.The registration process for PG admissions started on May 9 and will continue till May 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM.Interested students can apply online through the official admission portal at muadmission.samarth.edu.in.
