Mukesh Khanna Hera has opened up about missing Pheri 2, revealing that she was never approached for the sequel despite being a part of the cult original.Speaking to The Filmy Charcha, the veteran actor said, “No, I was not approached. And I don’t regret it. If they ask me, I will do it… everyone else repeated, but not me.’
“I didn’t ask why they didn’t take me”
Khanna hinted at a problem with the makers in the first film. “During Hera Pheri, I had a bit of a problem with the producer… his attitude. So I didn’t go and ask why I wasn’t hired,” he said.Recalling his role, Khanna spoke about the audience’s response to his scenes. “I was running and when Om Puri chased me with a stick, ‘Chief Commissioner hoon!’ I used to say… people in the theaters would shout, ‘Arre Shaktimaan bhaag raha hai!'”He added that perhaps his character was not required in succession. “Maybe they didn’t feel the need… I wasn’t there.”

The address claims that Akshay Kumar does not memorize lines, Khanna dismissed the idea based on his own experience.“I have done six films with him… I have never seen anything like that,” he said, referring to projects like Saugandh, Amaanat and International Khiladi.While admitting that Akshay’s busy schedule may fuel such perceptions, Khanna said, “I don’t think he forgets interviews. He is a very dedicated and hardworking actor.”
Khana also revealed that he had approached Akshay a few years ago with a film idea: a political drama about a paanwala who has influence in Parliament.“I told the story…he heard it but said, ‘Mukesh, I won’t be able to do this,'” Khanna said, adding that the actor has become more selective.The role was initially thought of for Irrfan Khan, but plans changed after his death.
“Maybe he’s mad at me”
The actor has admitted that he has publicly criticized some of Akshay’s choices in the past, including Laxmii. “I said he shouldn’t have done it… maybe he’s upset with me, I don’t know,” Khanna said.However, he added that he plans to reconnect with Akshay for a possible collaboration in the future.
