14 crore of Mohanlal’s film
Industry watcher Jerin Georgekutty shared an important update on X on May 17. Kerala and GCC are concerned
Kerala is currently the highest performing domestic market. Advance bookings in the state have crossed 4.50 crore, including fan shows.Internationally, the Gulf region has emerged as the most powerful overseas territory. The GCC has contributed more than USD 430,000, which is about 4.12 million. Worldwide weekend bookings are approaching 18.50 million.
Familiar faces are back in the ‘Drishyam’ franchise
The new installment brings back several cast members from the previous films. Along with Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan and Esther Anil reprise their established roles. The supporting cast also includes Siddique, Asha Sharath and Murali Gopy.
The Hindi version of ‘Drishyam 3’ will have major changes
The makers have confirmed that the Hindi adaptation starring Ajay Devgn will not be a direct remake of the Malayalam original. While both versions continue the story from where ‘Drishyam 2’ ended, the Hindi film will take a different script and narrative approach.Speaking to ANI, Abhishek Pathak said, “You will understand the difference only when you watch the Hindi trailer. The story of Drishyam 2 ended at a certain point, and Drishyam 3 starts from that point. The Malayalam version also starts from that point. The Malayalam version is more of a family drama. As Jeethu Joseph told us at the launch, and the Malayalam story will be very good at the launch. A lot, that’s why we have invested in this project.“Mohanlal’s original ‘Drishyam 3’ will release in theaters worldwide on May 21.
