Shortly after news of his death at the age of 32, tributes from his friends in the music industry have started pouring in on social media.According to news reports, Tree was among six people killed when two helicopters crashed mid-flight in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He was coming off a stop in Sao Paulo last weekend on his first World Tour, before kicking off his European tour in July.After learning of his tragic death, Melanie Martinez, who was previously in a relationship with the singer, paid emotional tribute in a social media post. Taking to her Instagram Story, she wrote: “Today was an absolute disaster. It’s really hard to understand how someone with whom you once shared such a defining and formative time in your life can suddenly be gone. He was so dedicated to his art, which I admired and respected so much. I believe that all who knew him will look back on those moments of laughter and joy that he so easily evoked. His laugh was so contagious and warm. His ability to creatively direct and take action while maintaining a sense of wonder and wonder for children was very inspiring. He had such a soft heart and was a true artist in every way.”Martinez added: “Rest in peace Oliver. I know you’re making the angels laugh. I’ll be here wondering what brainstorms and creative projects you’re coming up with in heaven. All my love.”Among those honored was a pop star Baby RexhaShe expressed her shock at Oliver’s death and reflected on their personal and professional relationship. He tweeted: “I’m stoked. I was in the middle of signing my CD in NYC when I found the Oliver Tree news. I can’t believe it. We recorded an album together to be in the band Dirty Blonde. He was so smart. Passionate Talented.
