An insider told the outlet that the appeal to wealthy hosts would be significant. “The lure of wealthy hosts will be obvious. They’re not just getting celebrity looks, they’re getting the duchess title, royal connections and global recognition of someone attached to the British monarchy. That still carries a huge buzz in some circles, especially among wealthy Americans who are fascinated by royalty,” the report says.He added that while those close to Meghan view these appearances as a strategic networking and branding opportunity, those opposed to the plan see it differently. “The line between philanthropy, celebrity influence and commercial self-promotion is increasingly blurred. Among the detractors is the perception that she and Harry have built a very expensive lifestyle in California, which now requires a steady stream of carefully managed deals, partnerships, looks and publicity, but this plan feels like breaking the bottom of the barrel.

A source clarified the financial pressures that are said to have prompted the strategy. “Security, staff, travel, PR operations and maintaining the image of being a world power player, some believe they are worth around $6 million a year to Meghan and Harry.”The source continued: “Back in Britain, it is frustrating that Meghan and Harry have publicly distanced themselves from royal life while continuing to enjoy the glamor and exclusivity associated with their titles.
