But for me, we didn’t shoot for a few months in between, and obviously Ranveer and Deepika also had a baby at that stage. So she went through a lot,” Manav told Mamaraazzi. He added that when Ranveer returned to the set, the transformation was evident.“When I saw him in Bangkok, he was in his Hamza phase, fully energized, very particular about his food and discipline. A month later, when he returned, he ran into Jaskirat, a sharp young man, almost like someone fresh out of the army. So yes, the change was very evident.”

Manav admitted that he was not surprised by Ranveer’s transformation, given the actor’s dedication.“I wasn’t surprised, actually, because the film demanded it, and knowing Ranveer and his kind of dedication to cinema, I was sure he would create magic, and he did, without a doubt.”

“Madhavan is a delight, like an elder brother on set”

Opening up about working with R Madhavan, Manav described the experience as rewarding and comforting.“He’s a delight. He’s got all these years of experience and he’s very intelligent, which makes him very knowledgeable. We had long conversations—he realized that I’m a student of film and people, and he shared a lot.”He added that Madhavan’s presence has made things easier for the cast members. “He’s a very confident actor, he’s not territorial. It almost felt like an older brother helping you, so that you don’t feel awkward or get hit.”

Aditya Dhar ‘like a swan’ on set

Manav also praised director Aditya Dhar, describing his working style with an interesting analogy.“I said it’s like a swan, on the surface, it’s moving smoothly, but under the water, it’s paddling very hard.”Despite the scale of the production, the filmmaker kept it calm and under control. “With such a large canvas and cast, he was still calm, quiet, smiling. He did a lot of homework.”Highlighting Aditya’s directorial approach, Manav said the filmmaker focused on restraint.“People are talking about the details, he was very bright.
